Obviously Russia is a threat. But is it surprising that Russia might want to attack NATO countries when NATO encourages Ukraine with bombs, missiles and drones to attack Russian oil refineries, Moscow, etc. Wouldn’t it be surprising if Russia just said “Oh that’s OK” and did nothing?

The Ukraine war looks set to go on for ever, but the more we encourage Ukraine to attack Russia the greater danger we are in.

Ukraine is already in ruins and dependent for survival on European support (that means tax payers in European countries). A negotiated agreement is the only road out and it will probably seem unsatisfactory to both sides, but equally the current level of violence is painful and devastating to all concerned, including NATO which is funding much of this destruction and provocation.

I would like to hear the words negotiation and diplomacy on the lips of commentators who currently can only think of violence. Is the violence working? I don’t think so.
