I was pleased to be able to join this silent demonstration in Brighton on Sunday – to draw attention to the persecution of Palestinians on an enormous scale by Israel with the support of this country, our country! with most UK MPs supporting this terrible crime.
There were probably about 500 of us on this march, but around the world there were huge demonstrations that weekend. In London an estimated 500,000 marched. The police said the numbers amounted to only 20,000.
We supply arms to Israel. We have at least one Israeli owned arms factory in this country. We are partly responsible for the murder of over 50,000 Palestinians in Gaza, the destruction of most of the homes of 2.3 million people in Gaza..
It was a demonstration with no chanting, no shouting, no banners demanding anything. Each ribbon fluttering in the demonstration bore the name of a child killed by the Israelis since October 7th 2023.

The following day, Monday 19 May 2025, the UK government had a partial change of attitude to Israel’s massacre of over 50,000 people, attempt to destroy Gaza and drive out the remainder of its 2.3 million people.
